Works For Me Wednesday – Sugar Dispenser

Ok, I am a total tea nut. You probably don’t even want to know how many kinds of tea I have in my house. I drink it hot, I drink it cold, I drink it all day, every day. Now, I like my tea sweet (no milk thanks). That isn’t a problem with iced tea, but with hot tea it can be a bit of hassle if you’re trying to spoon your sugar out of a sugar bowl. I’ve tried keeping a sugar bowl and it just does not work for me. So what is a tea loving girl to do?

Luckily, I came across the Zyliss Quick Blend Shaker. The label says that you can use it to mix and serve salad dressing and blend protein shakes. It supposedly fits most blenders and has a leak proof spout so you can drink directly from it. None of those uses interested me. Nope, I decided to fill mine with sugar and use it to dispense it into my hot tea. There’s no muss, no fuss and no wet sugar getting clumped up in your dish. I love it. I just pop the lid and pour the sugar onto my spoon and then into my tea. There is no longer a need to get out a new spoon every time I fix another hot tea.

I’m also hopeful that it will keep the ants out when they once again invade my kitchen this spring. We’ll have to see about that one though. It does seal tightly so it is promising.

I purchased my Quick Blend Shaker at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was priced at $5.99 and I used one of their 20% off coupons to get it for $4.79. (Remember that Bed Bath and Beyond coupons never expire and you can use one for every item that you purchase. I keep a whole pile of these coupons in the cubby of the driver’s door of my car.)
